ATV Tours Coming Soon! Depending on the weather, tentatively April 15th.

UNGUIDED COLORADO ATV RENTALS

We will begin our ATV season at each trailhead after most of the snow has melted and the trails are mostly dry. The earliest this will happen is April 15, but could be later.  We will meet you at the trailhead and you can ride your ATV from there. When you book with us, you will NOT have to drive a truck and trailer and you will NOT responsible for loading and unloading your ATV from a trailer. You will also be able to ride your ATV for the entire rental time and you will NOT have to spend your rental time driving a truck and trailer to the trailhead. To find the trailhead you are meeting us at, you will receive a confirmation email after you make your reservation. In it there is a button that says “Get Directions”. When you click the “Get Directions” button from your smartphone, it will automatically put you on Google Maps and give you directions to the correct trailhead.

First Time Riders – Most of our guests are riding atvs for the first time ever and have a great time. We give everyone instruction on how to operate the atvs. We encourage everyone to ask questions until they feel comfortable. Our atvs have automatic transmissions and power steering. Power steering makes steering much easier especially for first time riders. First time riders should take it easy. Going slow when cornering is very important until your ability improves.

ATVS AVAILABLE FOR GUIDED TOURS

OUR ATVS

The majority of our ATVS are the Can-Am Outlander Max, an ATV designed specifically for off road, all-terrain trails with 48 horsepower, automatic transmission, independent front and rear suspension, and twenty-five-inch all-terrain tires. These ATVS are brand new, well made, and seat one driver and one passenger, and are strong and durable, able to withstand a large amount of weight without inhibiting performance. The Outlander Max also features a small storage compartment and rack for the additional storage of goods.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Important info: There are no exceptions to the following!

-All drivers must show us a valid Drivers license. All participants over 18 must present a photo ID.  All participants under 18 must be accompanied by their legal guardian.

-The manufacturer recommends that passengers be able to place their feet firmly on the floorboards. People at least 48 inches tall can normally do this.

-You must be at least 26 years old to rent a ATV or Side by Side. You may allow someone at least 18 years old  to operate an ATV or Side by Side you rented as long as you are supervising during the entire rental.

-You must be at least 18 to reserve a guided tour. Guided Tours do not require a hold/preauthorization on a credit card. No 26+ year old required with a guide.

-ATVs and Side by Sides are easy to damage, especially if you are attempting high risk maneuvers such as high speed cornering, drifting, or donuts.  The renter is responsible to pay for any damages that the driver causes plus any loss of rent while the unit is broken and any recovery costs.  We require that each driver have a hold/preauthorization on a major credit card to rent the machine. A $1000 hold for drivers 26&up and a $1500 hold for drivers 18 to 25.  We highly recommend that renters purchase insurance from their insurance broker as repair costs can be in the thousands of dollars. Check our www.Can-Am.BRP.com to see what the ATVs and Side by Sides cost.

-Most of our renters drive responsibly and have a great time without causing damage to the equipment.

-We will take full payment at the time of the reservation. The credit card used to pay for the reservation will also be preauthorized the day before your rental and responsible for damage caused by any of the drivers on the reservation. If you do not want to take responsibility for another driver, have that driver make his or her own separate reservation and use his/her credit card.

-24 hour cancellation policy. If you want to cancel all or part of your reservation, you will receive a full refund as long as you cancel at least 24 hours before your departure time. You should look at the weather forecast at least 24 hours before your reservation to see it is favorable to you. We rarely cancel due to weather.

What to Expect

It is an out and back trail, meaning it is nearly impossible to get lost unless you go off the trail.  You will start to go up the mountain after you leave the trailhead. About 15 minutes up the trail, you will be high enough on the mountain that you will notice the views are getting amazing. Feel free to stop and take all the pictures you like. After you have gone up a couple thousand feet in elevation, the trail will go into the forest. Eventually, you will come to a point where the trail is blocked by deep snow and impassable. You should arrive at this point 30 to 45 minutes after you started your ride. At the 45-minute mark, you should turn around and head back to the trailhead. On the way down, you will be able to see the awesome views better than on the way up. We want you to use extra caution on the way down the mountain, as trail conditions this time of year can be dirt, mud, icy snow packed, or powder. It is more difficult to slow down when you are going downhill.

You should dress very warmly! We chose this 90-minute ride so that you can take in a great mountain experience and hopefully be back to your warm car before you get cold. Please keep in mind that space is limited. We only have 12 ATVs. Each ATV can carry a driver plus one passenger.
